The Eurasian Association of Trade Union Organizations of Universities (EATUOU) is the largest international trade union association in the post-Soviet space, uniting about 70 classical universities in 8 countries.

The scientific and practical conference “Experience of restructuring the work of university trade union organizations”, which was conducted in 1987 on the initiative of the Trade Union of Moscow State University, served as a starting point for 30 congresses, meetings of the Presidium, dozens of discussions and studies on the development and modernization of higher education.

The Association is recognized by the Eurasian Union of Rectors and heads of trade unions of education of many countries, traditionally every Congress is opened by the rector of the host university.

There was a tradition to sign bilateral agreements on cooperation between trade union-affiliated members of the association, exchange delegations of employees and students, hold joint events and implement common projects.

The EATUOU does everything to strengthen friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation between universities and their trade union organizations in the interests of developing education in our countries.

Trade union organizations of higher educational institutions are the most important part of the trade unions of education.
