Historical-Patriotic Forum “Peers of the Victors”

In the Elbrus region, from March 31 to April 3, 2025, initiated by the Coordinating Council of Chairmen of the Trade Union in the North Caucasian Federal District (NCFD), the First Historical-Patriotic Forum “Peers of the Victors” took place, bringing together participants from more than 50 universities, representing 6 states and the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.

The Forum opened a series of events organized by the Coordinating Council of Chairmen of the All-Russian Trade Union of Education and the Eurasian Association of Trade Union Organizations of Universities dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

Forum participants brought letters from their cities to the Caucasus, addressed to the soldiers – participants in the battles in the Caucasus, which emphasize that their courage and heroism are not forgotten by generations and today their peers honor their feat and preserve the historical memory of the events of the Great Patriotic War.

Representatives of trade union organizations from the Siberian Federal District (SFD), Southern Federal District (SFD), North Caucasian Federal District (NCFD), and the city of Moscow visited the Museum of the Defense of Elbrus at an altitude of 3500 meters and laid a wreath at the monument to the soldiers who defended it.

A bright, memorable event was the meeting in the village of Terskol between the Forum participants and the pupils and teachers of the highest-altitude school in the country. Stories about the real people who defended their native places left no one indifferent. The school staff received a multimedia video projector as a gift, and the children received souvenirs and sports equipment.

In memory of the past Forum, a commemorative space with souvenir plates from the countries and cities – participants of the Forum – has been set up at the Elbrus educational and scientific base of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov.
